Sang
A downloadable game for Windows
SANG is a single-player FPS inspired by games like Blood, Half-Life, Resident Evil and more! Experience a story that immerses you into a world of cults, conspiracies, betrayal, intense combat and nerve-racking survival horror. Make choices that will affect not only the story but your playstyle, too. Blast your way through five unique stages that will test your combat prowess, problem-solving skills and survival expertise in this retro-inspired horror shooter.
Take control of a man with nothing to lose - you’re the only one that can stop the evil cult! Journey down below the city - deep down into the earth - to discover secrets known only to ancient few and explore the terror of places not meant for humans.

SANG takes place after a terrifying event hurls a city into chaos. Now, random people have been disappearing off the streets. Behind the scenes, evil forces scheme to fulfill apocalyptic prophecy. Fight through a small army of cultists, zombies, corrupted soldiers, mechincal drones, deadly experiments and mind-bending creatures from beyond this world.

Use and upgrade nine different weapons - from the traditional to experimental to the occult - in classic fast-paced FPS gameplay. Explore open-ended maps and a branching story that will lead down multiple path and different endings. Can you stop the growing darkness before it’s too late?

Built in a custom engine written to replicate first person games from the 90s, SANG utilizes beautifully stylized old-school graphics and visual effects to create a unique horror experience. This SFML and OpenGL engine game has options for filtered and unfiltered textures, uninterpolated animations, vertex lighting, per-pixel lighting, bloom, dithering, pixelization scaling and custom shaders!

Developer Note
Thanks for checking out my game! It's being built in Easy FPS Editor CE and it's currently in a pre alpha stage. The above blurb is the end goal for the project. As of right now, the game consists of one level that spans about 15-25 minutes. There are currently four usable weapons and four different enemies with unique behaviors.
If you're interested in helping with additional feedback, I've created a questionnaire for people to take.

And please excuse some of the unfinished textures, placeholder sprites, placeholder menus, CC0 sound effects, janky enemy animation, lack of subtitles and missing options and settings. Ultimately, the majority of assets will be in 3D but the level design, game flow, fun factor, sound design, difficulty, etc is ready for testing now. With your help, the game will be the best it can be!
Hope you enjoy the game! Let me know what you think! Please report any bugs in the comments below. All feedback and suggestions are welcome as well. Thanks again!
Note to Low End PCs with no GPUs
SANG is configured by default to run on Windows PCs with GPUs. If you're having trouble starting the game, turn posteffects to 0 in the config.ini. Turn Lighting Quality to 1 to improve performance at the cost of visual clarity and consistency.

I really enjoy how well crafted the game's locations are and how balanced the gameplay feels. i particularly want to highlight how cool it is to find secrets and how thoughtfully they are placed throughout the world.
The graphics, as i understand, are still in a draft/placeholder state (partially) but they already create a strong and compelling atmosphere.
The game's greatest strength, in my opinion, is its perfect pacing and 'flov'. It just feels great to play. There was one rather challenging section (key found) for me but it was so well-designed that i genuinely wanted to overcome it. i managed to conquer it on my fourth attempt and it was great!
I was also thrilled to see an unfinished level included. It strongly contrasts with the finished ones featuring a more open-ended location and terrain which was a fascinating glimpse into the development process.
Remind me Blood 2 and Half-Life in one, when B2 is not bad-balanced and HF1 is not so boring with a storyline (as for me).
I absolutely want to play the full release version. This is a game i would definitely add to my wishlist and buy on Steam.
Wow - thank you for the kind words! I appreciate all the feedback! Regarding the key, I'll need to rework that. Others have said the same comment. I forgot to give the key a shiny sparkle for visibility - that'll be fixed in the next upload. Anyway, thanks for playing the game and commenting!
Looking cool!
Hey you - thanks! And thanks for the feedback regarding the art style and other stuff!
